Fabulous food and fantastic service. Abe and Courtney will be opening a new location soon and we can't wait!!

They are Phenomenal. It's March 3rd, 2024 and they are doing pop ups to open their new restaurant!!

Super delicious food just basic deliciousness no frills no BS really enjoyed it and super nice people. Please support this wonderful visitation.

For a filling and delicious fish taco meal. You can't go wrong at CHICANO NUEVO. I haven't explored a lot more of the menu because I can't get past the San Diego style fish tacos. I also love the salsa and the bit of seafood consommé that comes with it. Sometime this fall they are moving from the Excelsior to a Mission Street location where the old Emmys Spaghetti shack was across from Safeway. I can't wait to see what they do with the new place - I loved their art at Broken Record. In any event, we'll follow them wherever they go - it's that good!

This is a popup kinda thing in the back of the Broken Record. The Fish Tacos here are something magical and from out of this world. Perfectly fried fish, Mexican style slaw, a salmon consommé on the side. Buckle your mind into your head. Now the owner Abe has other things like oysters or even vegan friendly items that are also very good...but really those fish tacos! Get it!

The hood burger!! The Mexi-szechuan wings!! The carne asada fries!! The flan!! You cannot go wrong here. The quality and love that goes into this food is amazing. So so lucky to have this in the neighborhood. I believe they are moving to a brick and mortar location in November, and will be sure to support them there too! Such a gem at the broken record.

I'm salivating now, writing about the Buffalo cauliflower. Damn good burger as well. This is going into our regular rotation for sure.

If you're walking through the neighborhood you may just pass it by, which is exactly why I am here writing a review for Abraham, chef / owner of Chicáno Nuevo!! This Chicáno - Mexican restaurant is located in the back of The Broken Record bar in San Francisco's Excelsior district. You absolutely need to stop by for these insanely delicious Ensenada style Baja fish tacos with salmon consome, squid ink infused tamales filled with shredded beef, and wu-tang flan! Also recommending the fried cauliflower (addictive af) Mexi-Szechuan wings, and a juicy HOOD burger. Everything is so damn good, getting hit with flavor, left and right!

Chicano Nuevo Located in the back of the Broken Record bar. Great beer selection! What I really care about sharing is my love of this food establishment. In particular the fish tacos are a must. They are crispy on the outside, with tender white delectable fish inside. Served with cabbage, creme, pickled cabbage and a to-die-for salmon consommé accompanying each plate of 2 amazing tacos. The food takes a bit of time, but every dish is uncompromising in presentation, flavor and comfort.
